It was recently announced that Valeria Lukyanova, the human Barbie doll, was living on a lifestyle that does not require eating, and this is likely to not just increase her chances of being unhealthy, but a chance of dying as well.

Human Barbie To Become A Demi-God?

Considering that humans need food to live, it appears that no matter how determined Lukyanova is to get her body in the physical shape of the famous doll, there is no possible way that she could live for much longer. But according to a proponent of the lifestyle that Lukyanova is practicing called "Breatharianism," it could actually be possible for a person to survive on only light and air.

"The capacity to live on light is directly related to our ability to attract, absorb and radiate Divine Love, which is determined by our lifestyle," Jamusheen wrote. "When we are well tuned and four body fit, we can access an inner power, which has the ability to love us, guide us, heal us and also nourish our cells."

Human Barbie's Lifestyle More Details

It seems like it might be possible for Lukyanova to survive without food based on this theory, but it looks like the model's ability to survive is also based on how much she's drinking. According to Scientific American, not eating before death is influenced by body weight, genetic variation and most importantly, dehydration.

According to Lukyanova, she hasn't been hungry for a long time, but is still managing to keep a beating heart.

"In recent weeks, I have not been hungry at all; I'm hoping it's the final stage before I can subsist on air and light alone," Lukyanova told International Business Times.
