This season, E! and the shows' executive producer Ryan Seacrest, banked on the internal family drama to bring in the viewers. With Khloe Kardashians' divorce from Lamar Odom, Kim and Kanye's engagement, Kourtney and Scott's parental tragedies, Kendall's budding modeling career, Bruce and Kris' split, and a possible look at baby North West, ratings were expected to be higher than they were.
According to information reported by RadarOnline however, the season 9 premiere episode garnered only 2.56 million viewers, down almost half-a-million from the season eight premiere on June 2, 2013, which pulled in 3.02 million viewers.
One of E!'s press managers also told Hollywood Life that, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians continues to be a successful series and appointment television. New episodes of the series will premiere later this year, and the family is signed on to film the 10th season."
Kim Kardashian also tweeted on March 19 to further dispel any beliefs that she and her family would not be returning to television.
Keeping Up With the Kardashians airs every Sunday, at 8/7c on E!
