On Wednesday, The Independent posted the updated information, saying that she was locked behind a toilet cubicle door and had crossed her arms over her head as Pistorius allegedly shot at her.
Police expert Captain Christiaan Mangena told Pretoria's High Court that Steenkamp was in a toilet cubicle where she was facing the direction of the fired bullets. According to Mangena, the first of four bullets hit Steenkamp in her hip, which caused her to fall.
"That bullet penetrated and broke the hip bone of the deceased," Mangena said. "If the hip bone is broken completely, it causes her to fall down, she would not have been able to stand. She fell down and moved backwards."
Mangena also mentioned that the second bullet had apparently hit the cubicle, causing it to break into pieces. He also seems to be unaware of the order of the last two shots.
The captain then revealed that the victim fell on top of a magazine rack in the bathroom and another bullet supposedly missed her before the fourth hit her in the head, killing her.
Pistorius's defense counsel Barry Roux reportedly suggested that the wounds on Steenkamp's back came from the magazine rack that she apparently feel against, as opposed to gunshot wounds. Roux is also reportedly prepared to prove so by an expert analysis.
