Despite keeping busy with American Idol judging duties, Jennifer Lopez is still taking time to promote her new album and share behind-the-scenes details about the work she put into it.

As the 44-year-old mother of twins works to promote her eighth studio album, she also revealed the personal views that inspired her anti-stereotypical I Luh Ya Papi video.

"The director came up with the concept to kind of flip the rap video-to make me the rapper, and, you know, just turn the tables in that way...instead of having girls in bathing suits, have guys in bathing suits," Lopez told PopSugar about the video concept. "It was all meant to be in good fun, but you know, I knew people would get the joke."

The video, which has over 14 million views on Youtube, also featured a familiar outfit of J. Lo's, which helped raise the bar on Grammy fashion when she debuted it on the 2000 red carpet.

Lopez told PopSugar that she decided to bring the low-cut Versace dress back to life to align with the video's concept.

"When you think about those type of videos with those rappers and the mansions and the yachts, they always have these Versace shirts on-and it was shot in Miami-we had to have some Versace in the video," she said.

"They came back with the jungle print, which is the green dress that I wore at the Grammys a few years back. I was like, oh my God, we have to do this," she added. "That'll take everybody right back to those videos, too, from that 'Jenny From the Block' era, so we thought it was perfect for that."

Jennifer is seemingly making a return to her hip-hop based Bronx music, as opposed to her latest dance-pop heavy hits like On the Floor. In January, she returned to the Bronx to film the video for Same Girl to show that fame hasn't changed her, and also worked with Chris Brown on the hit.

"We had a great time working together. He's a very talented boy," she said about Brown.

Her new album is due to hit stores on June 17. For now, watch the full I Luh Ya Papi video below.
