Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, one of WWE's most notable alumni, is taking his acting talents solo in the highly anticipated Brett Ratner film Hercules, due out this summer.

The Rock Replacing Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator 5?

Since his heyday in the WWE, The Rock has established himself as one of Hollywood's premier talents, starring in films like The Scorpion King, Tooth Fairy, the Fast & Furious franchise. With Hercules being Johnson's first big movie without any other notable co-stars, there is some speculation as to whether or not he can carry the movie alone, and help the film become a success. According to Forbes, "Hercules is the movie to prove that The Rock is a movie star all by himself..."

One glance at the Canadian/Samoan actor and it's no wonder why the WWE heavyweight champ's nickname is 'The Rock.' DailyMail quoted the actor saying, "As an actor, not showing my chiseled, extraordinary, handsome face was a tremendous sacrifice for me," who shared on his Instagram account, "I trained and worked harder than ever for 8 months for this role."

The mega movie star continued expressing his passion for transforming into Hercules with posting, "Lived alone and locked myself away (like a moody 260-lb. monk)... goal was to completely transform into this character. Disappear in the role."

Meanwhile, the 6'5" ex-football player exclaimed to USA Today, "...'I am Hercules!'...I was born to play this role." And, by the looks of him, perhaps he was.

The Paramount film is scheduled to hit theaters on July 25.
