Jessa Duggar Courtship: '19 and Counting' Premiere Shows Awkward Parents Double Date [VIDEO]
Double dates are already bad enough but when the other couple is your parents, a whole new level of awkward conversation comes into play as Jessa Duggar unfortunately learned.
Last night, the season premiere of 19 Kids and Counting featured Jessa Duggar, her boyfriend Ben Seewald, and his parents on a double date. In an effort to find out more about Jessica, his parents took them out for dinner to discuss her intentions for their courtship. The Duggar family beauty handled herself quite well under pressure.
"I wouldn't say I was uncomfortable but it was just a little bit awkward," Jessa Duggar told TLC the cameras of her first double date experience. "It was really good... But at the same time I was like, a little nervous."

Ben's father started off the conversation for and broke the ice, informing Jessica, "We want to get to know you a little bit better tonight, you guys are courting now officially... "
For those of you who do not know what courting is, it is a serious, meaningful version of 21st century dating. When you are in a courtship, you and your partner have decided that you are taking each other seriously and the entire purpose of you all getting to know each other is to enter into a committed relationship. (So yes, a concept almost foreign to most modern day daters who just date because it is something to do.)
His dad then went on to ask how she felt the first time she saw his son, to which she responded, "Well, yea hmm... He seems like a nice guy."
