‘True Detective’ Season 2 Rumors: HBO Series Creator Says ‘Casting Is Its Own Issue?’ [VIDEO]
True Detective has officially made HBO history! Recently, it was announced as being the network's most-watched new series of all time. Apparently, fans are speaking in more ways than one, about their wishes for the hit crime drama. Who do they want to see in the show next season?

Tuesday, Deadline reported, "the gross audience for HBO's buzzy new drama series True Detective starring Matthew McConaughy and Woody Harrelson has risen to 11.9 million viewers per episode, making it the most-watched first-year series in HBO's history." Likewise, in anticipation of Season 2, a recent fan discussion on Reddit is suggesting all kinds of potential plots, and even touched on some of the actors and settings they'd like to see.
To open the discussion, the post states, "For me, I would love to see Bryan Cranston and Christian Bale do a younger and older guy partnership, set in America (landscape on Season 1 was spectacular) and maybe on the hunt for a murderer(s) with a racism angle as the main plot..." Subsequently, other show enthusiasts chimed in mentioning actors like Will Smith, Nicolas Cage, Edward Norton, Samuel Jackson, Michael Fassbender, Javier Bardem, Christoph Waltz and Anthony Hopkins. Plus, on par with the reported demands for a female lead in Season 2, some of the actresses named included Jennifer Lawrence, Sandra Bullock, Jessica Chastain, Salma Hayek and Amy Adams.

However, during an interview with Buzzfeed on March 6, show creator Nic Pizzolatto revealed, "Casting is its own issue. Who we cast and what their schedule is will likely determine at least some part of scheduling, and scheduling will determine at least some part of casting."
