The Samsung Galaxy S3 is the most eagerly anticipated smartphone of the year to date, however, Samsung fans in the United States are continuing to be frustrated at the delays and pre-order backlogs.

The smartphone has already been released in other parts of the world, which is frustrating in itself for American customers, but further delays have disappointed users even more. Major U.S. carriers AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon, which all had different release dates for the smartphone, have reported delays due to demand that has exceeded expectations.

For AT&T pre-order customers, some have reported receiving their new devices on June 21. However, others have been affected by delays, and the company has announced that some pre-orders could be delayed until June 25 or later. It is believed that AT&T will start selling the device throughout its stores on June 28.

Sprint customers have also suffered mixed results from their pre-orders. According to Engadget Sprint customers who ordered the 16GB model received their devices on time on June 21, however, on various blogs some Sprint customers have reported not receiving their 16GB Samsung Galaxy S3's by that date. In addition those who ordered the 32GB version have suffered delays. It is believed that the 32GB versions will not be shipped now until next week.

T-Mobile has also said it is experiencing a backlog to its pre-orders, and the release date for the smartphone has now been pushed back until June 29 for customers not residing in major U.S. cities (such as New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Houston).
Verizon had the latest release date out of the major carriers, and originally planned its release for July 10. However, even they have suffered delays, and the release date has now been postponed by a day until July 11.

Samsung will feature Qualcomm's dual-core s4 chip in its U.S. version of the smartphone. Other specifications include a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display, 2GB of RAM, a 2100mA battery and Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich.

Verizon will be selling the super fast 4G LTE version of the SGS3, which will come with a dual-core Snapdragon S4 CPU.
