Agent Marcus Pike's grand plans for himself and Lisbon may hit a wall in The Mentalist season finale - a wall that is the exact same shape and size as Patrick Jane.

How Can Patrick Jane Annoy The Rich & Powerful? Find Out In 'Forest Green' Sneak Peeks

Lisbon (Robin Tunney) has picked up a new love interest from the FBI's art squad and her new beau will be proposing as the CBS drama edges towards a possible cancellation Pike (Pedro Pascal) will soon ask the former CBI agent to pack her bags and follow him to D.C., but it appears he will up his ante during the finale and actually pop the question.

Titled "Blue Bird Inn," the episode will give the FBI a new break in a cold case and Lisbon will get the opportunity to stay in Texas just a little longer.

The Red John Case Is Back, Will Patrick Jane Stand Trial On 'The Mentalist'?

Jane has been reevaluating his platonic relationship with Lisbon since the arrival of Pike, and hopefully he will take the arrival of this case as an intervention on the part of fate and sort the Jisbon matter out once and for all.

"I think Jane was feeling curiously like a third wheel [when Lisbon goes on a date at the end of "Violets"] - something he doesn't feel very often - and wondering why he felt that way," said executive producer Tom Szentgyorgyi, according to TV Line. "Pike is with us through the end of the season, and he will become a increasingly important figure in Lisbon's life, so Jane is wondering what he's feeling, because he's been the most important man in Lisbon's life - and suddenly he might not be."
