The road to American Idol stardom is right around the corner for one of the Top 5 contestants left on the popular Fox singing competition. On Wednesday night's episode, the theme was "Country and Rock 'n' Roll." However, perhaps it came as a surprise to some when a Country-singing natural didn't receive enough votes to remain in the competition. Next week, the outcome for another Idol crooner will be determined by the voters yet again, and apparently this time, so will their song choices.

On the April 24 airing of American Idol, the 23-year-old Alabama native, C.J. Harris, was eliminated in the competition. Though the young Country vocalist had consistently given "big-hearted performances," and displayed tons of humility all around, his Wednesday night performances were deemed "underwhelming."

Likewise, the judges agreed that while each contestant possesses talent, some have more effectively displayed theirs than have others. "You know, it's always hard. We've been on this journey now for months and ... they both have amazing voices, but this is the nature of this competition. We have to get down to one winner, and we have to see somebody amazing go every week," told Idol judge Jennifer Lopez.

Next week the Top 5 will be whittled down to only four singers left afloat in the contest. Plus, reportedly the game will further be in the hands of the voters, as each singer's performance song will be chosen by Twitter viewers using "#IdolRequest." The theme of the April 30 episode is, America's Request.

Tune in to American Idol on Thursday, May 1, at 8 p.m. to find out which member of the Top 5 is sent packing.
