Prince Harry, Cressida Bonas Split: Ex-Couple Remains 'Best Friends' While 'Pausing For a Breather'? [VIDEO]
Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas are said to be on good terms since breaking up this week.
Prince Harry Heading to Memphis Without Cressida Bonas?
The couple called it quits after two years of dating but according to BBC, they are still "best friends" after the split. According to the news site, the royal was adamant about clearing up rumors that they broke up because the 25-year-old beauty was too clingy and needy. Instead, it was intense attention from the media as well as rumors that they would be announcing their engagement any day now that led to their high profile breakup.
An insider close to the couple said, "It's very sad that they have decided to split but this is a completely amicable separation and they are remaining the best of friends. This gives Cressida the opportunity to focus on her career but they would like to have a few days to be left alone."
Prince Harry's Friends Don't Think Cressida Is 'Good Fit' For Royalty?
This could be a good thing for Bonas, who is said to have given up her dream career as a dancer for a job more appropriate for a potential member of the royal family.
But it might not be the last we have sees of the two together as a couple. They have been off and on since Prince Harry's cousin, Princess Eugenie, introduced them back in the summer of 2012. They broke up when naked pictures of Prince Harry in a Las Vegas hotel room flooded the internet, and also separated for five months when he deployed to Afghanistan to fly Apache helicopters with the British army.
Another source suggested that they simply "paused for a breather" to take a break from the "full glare of the world's media" and referenced Prince William and Kate Middleton, who broke up before tying the knot.
Story developing.
