Word has it that Apollo Nida's legal issues could leave his wife, Phaedra Parks, without a home.
Phaedra Parks in on Apollo Nida's Scam?
Nida is currently facing serious fraud charges including bank and identity theft. He waived his indictment last month which will either end in him going to trial or accepting a plea deal. But if he is found guilty, court documents obtained by Radar Online reveal federal authorities could seize his properties, including the home he and The Real Housewives of Atlanta star share together.
The documents were filed April 24 and read in part that "Upon conviction of the offense alleged...[Nida] share forfeit to the United States ... any property constituting or derived from proceeds obtained directly or indirectly as a result of" his supposed scheme that is said to have raked in around $3 million. Still, the court could have a tough time discovering which property he paid for with the fraudulent money. In that event, Nida will have to pay up with cash.
Phaedra Parks Stands by Apollo?
But even if he is convicted, it's likely that Parks will be in the clear. The reality cast member was smart enough to sign a prenup before she tied the knot with Nida back in 2009 and their property is one of the items they decided to keep separate.
Even the $849,000 Buckhead mansion they moved into just last year only has her name on the lease. On top of that, she still owns a $161,900 home in her old stomping grounds of Athens, Ga. Nida, however, reportedly owns several "low end" homes in Atlanta.
Story developing.
