'Extreme Rules 2014' Results: Who Took The Intercontinental Championship Title? Did Evolution Defeat The Shield?
Daniel Bryan, The Shield, and Bad News Barrett proved their WWE dominance during Sunday night's Extreme Rules.
Broadcast from the Izod Center in Rutherford, N.J., the sixth installment of the pay-per-view featured seven matches. As the first major event since April's WrestleMania XXX, the Sunday night competition attempted to play out a few new grudges.
Now that Daniel Bryan is the World Heavyweight Chmpion and The Shield (Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambros) has taken his side, The Authority is not pleased. Stephanie McMahon tried to take down Bryan by inciting a demonic fire within Kane and Triple H reformed Evolution to (Triple H, Randy Orton, Batista) battle The Shield, but both of their attempts proved futile and Bryan and The Shield emerged victorious form their separate matches.
Meanwhile, the final match of the Intercontinental Championship unseated Big E as the reigning champ. Bad News Barrett defeated Rob Van Dam during the April 28 episode of Raw and won his ticket to Extreme Rules where he proceeded to trounce Big E and claim the title.
The other results from the evening are as follows - Bray Wyatt defeated John Cena in a steel cage match; Cesaro defeated Jack Swagger and Rob Van Dam in a triple threat match; Paige defeated Tamina Snuka in a singes match; and Alexander Rusev defeated R-Truth and Xavier Woods in a 2-on-1 handicap match.
Wrestling fans can see the aftereffects of Extreme Rules when Raw airs Monday at 8 p.m. ET on USA.
