Cinco de Mayo has come and celebrities have taken to their Twitter to announce the day, wishing everyone a happy and safe holiday.

Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres took to her Twitter page to announce the holiday twice by using her own share of witty humor. She wrote, "Feliz Cinco de Mayo! This might be Mayo favorite holiday." Later she wrote, "Feliz Cinco de Mayo! Please drink responsibly. Or at least wait until 3."

Modern Family star Sarah Hyland also tweeted a message while expressing her comedic side as well.

"Oh ya. It's cinco de mayo. Ummm tequila? Oh it's not even 1? Uhh nevermind," the actress posted.

One celebrity who seems to be having a good day today with some other big names is actress, singer and comedian Queen Latifah who tweeted what she's up to on this holiday.

"Kickin' off #CincoDeMayo on @QLShow right w @Ricky_Martin & I'm hookin up @ItsFloHenderson on a date! Don't miss it!" she posted.

Some other celebrities who are tweeting include Jon Favreau and late night show host Conan O'Brien.
