As pre-production for season 3 of House of Cards is currently underway, the first casting call for the Netlfix series was made public on May 19.

Robin Wright Almost Turned Down Part Of Claire; Didn't Want To Get Face-Lift For Show?

It seems like the show is looking for a bunch of professionals -- ranging from an ER doctor to a reporter and an NSA director to a detective. Interestingly enough, it seems like those 35 and below need not apply.

  • REPORTER-SUSAN: FEMALE: 35-55 years old, open ethnicity
  • REPORTER-GEOFF: MALE: 35-55 years old, open ethnicity
  • PHOTOGRAPHER: MALE: 42-48 years old, open ethnicity. Photography experience essential.
  • COLONEL: MALE: 50-60 years old, open ethnicity, military
  • NSA DIRECTOR: MALE or FEMALE: 45-55 years old, open ethnicity
  • CHAIRMAN: MALE: 50-60 years old, part of senate
  • SENATOR TORN: MALE: 58-62 years old, Southern senator
  • SENATOR EVERETT: FEMALE: 45-55 years old, academic
  • DETECTIVE SMITH: MALE: 35-48 years old, open ethnicity, blue collar.

Maryland and Media Rights Capital, which produces the show, agreed to deal last month that would allow the show to keep filming in Maryland."

The third season of House of Cards will film in Maryland, where the first and second seasons were also shot. Initially, the continuation of filming of the third season of the Netflix series was fraught with troubles over the past few weeks as the producers weren't getting permission from the State of Maryland. But the issue was finally resolved on April 25.
