Apollo Nida Charges 2014: 'Real Housewives' Star Insists Phaedra Parks' Paycheck Led Him To Committing Fraud? [VIDEO]
Apollo Nida still maintains that his wife, Phaedra Parks' income as a lawyer and reality TV star led him to committing bank and mail fraud.
Apollo Nida Reveals How Phaedra Parks Is Coping
While on the Ryan Cameron Morning Show on Atlanta's V103 recently, Nida confessed once again that he felt pressured to keep up with his wife's lifestyle. Nida made it clear that he doesn't depend on Parks' checks, which is why he turned to illegal activities to "make his own way."
"Apollo's never had a handout from day one. Never asked for nothing, never been given anything. Ever. So, you know, whatever she has, she has. Apparently the prenup says she can keep whatever she has. If I feel like I gotta do and there's no other way and the checks aren't being distributed equally, then you gotta do what you gotta do."
Apollo Nida Denies Phaedra Parks' Involvement
He also shut down critics who say he should have just gone out and gotten a real job rather than committing fraud to live a lavish lifestyle. He said it still would not have been enough because it wouldn't equal what Parks, who works as an attorney and owns several businesses, brings in on a regular basis.
"I'm not trying to [match] but maybe sustain a certain lifestyle."
Still, he admitted that he couldn't downplay his wife's business mentality. But he also implied that her crazy schedule due to her success has put a strain on their marriage. He revealed that her "phone goes off at 10:00 every night" like clockwork.
"The dynamics of a marriage is different than the dynamics of a friend."
Nida is scheduled to be sentenced on July 8. He could get up to 30 years in federal prison.
