Jelly Bean Update for Samsung Galaxy S2?
While many Android smartphone users are still waiting for their 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update, the latest Jelly Bean ROM has already started making its rounds on the internet. The unofficial Jelly Bean ROM, which is the new upcoming OS that was announced by Google earlier this year, has been floating online. One of these in particular may be aimed at the Samsung Galaxy S2, a phone that originally comes with 2.3 Gingerbread OS.
However, previous reports suggested that the Galaxy S2 will not be receiving the official Jelly Bean upgrade, although that has not been confirmed. But the case may remain to be true. Although the Galaxy S3 will be getting the new OS, its predecessor apparently lacks some components which may prevent the latest OS from running smoothly. The S2's screen resolution of 800x480 may be too low for Jelly Bean.
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is also in line to receive the Jelly Bean upgrade.
The ICS update is finally made available for the Motorola Droid Razr and Razr Maxx after weeks of delay. To get the upgrade, phone owners must do so by manually downloading the 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and accessing settings to update the system.
