The former actress, who is now a fashion student, was spotted out in Las Vegas on Father's Day sporting one less accessory that was extremely visible just one year ago-a tattoo on her left wrist.
She and a male companion were spotted meeting her loved ones at the Mediterraneo Hotel in the city, and the former actress sported her usual shades, some black flats, blue skinny jeans, and a plaid shirt with the sleeves rolled-up, partially exposing the place where a diamond tattoo she had inked on her wrist during her rough year in 2013. However, where the tattoo once proudly sat is now a discolored blob, sparking reports that she has been getting it removed.
Amanda Bynes Secret Instagram Account Revealed?
The action to remove the tattoos appears to be one of the final parts of her recovery after a bizarre year that saw her exhibit increasingly bizarre behaviors, getting in Twitter feuds with everyone, donning brightly-colored wigs, and getting new tattoos and piercings, including two studs in her cheeks.
After setting a fire in a driveway in her hometown of Thousand Oaks, Calif. she was placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold at an L.A. hospital before being transferred to a rehab facility. She was released from the facility in December 2013.
At the time of her hospitalization, it was reported that the actress had been diagnosed with both schizophrenia and bipolar disorders, though her mother has since claimed that her daughter was never diagnosed with the disorders and her behaviors were all a result of marijuana usage.
"Amanda has no mental illness whatsoever," Lynn Bynes told E! News April 9. "She has never been diagnosed as schizophrenic or bipolar. Amanda is very sorry for all the hurtful tweets, statements and actions that occurred while she was under the influence of marijuana."
Amanda's lawyer also refuted claims the actress had been diagnosed with the disorders, and said she is now off any medications and has been marijuana-free for nine months.
"Amanda is currently on zero medication," Tamar Arminak told People. "She's devoted to living her life as healthy as possible. She's never had a history of abusing alcohol or hard drugs, and she's proud to say she has been marijuana-free for the past nine months."
Now, regardless of what prompted the behaviors Amanda exhibited, she appears to fully be completely on track with taking control of her life once again. For now, her parents are still acting as her conservators.
