Country singer and Voice coach Blake Shelton turned 38 last week, and everyone from his wife, fellow singer Miranda Lambert, to his colleagues over at NBC's The Voice had a bit of fun with it.

Folks over at The Voice decided to cover Shelton's trailer in old photos of Shelton with various youthful hairstyles, apologies written above each and every one of them. The pictures framed a cheerful "happy birthday" sign.

ABC News reported that the NBC show's host, Carson Daly, posted a photo of Shelton laughing in his trailer at the gag, which occurred the same day fellow prankster and The Voice coach Adam Levine decided to give his friend a playful kiss.

Shelton's wife also took part in the fun, posting birthday wishes on Instagram along with an endearing photograph of her husband as a child, guitar in hand a a big smile on his face. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my best friend in the whole world..." wrote the star, "I love you! (And your dimples!)".

Shelton took the gags and wishes all with good humor. After all, he and Adam Levine are known for their mischievous shenanigans on The Voice.

While Shelton did not disclose definitive birthday plans, he has intended to take his wife away on their boat for a little relaxation at the close of her most recent tour. The pair have been married since 2011 and recently celebrated their anniversary.
