She often makes headlines for showcasing her body in see-through, barely-there ensembles, but in a surprise twist R&B singer Rihanna has opted for a more tasteful and sophisticated way to showcase her beautiful body and looks for the newest edition of Harper's Bazaar.

The 26-year-old Bajan beauty, who recently stunned everyone by wearing a completely see-through ensemble at the CFDA Awards earlier in June, showcases an extremely different and covered-up look on the cover of the magazine's Arabia edition. The photos showed her modeling several modern re-imaginings of traditional Middle Eastern clothing.

The photos showcase a much more demure, but still smoldering and sexy Rihanna. In one shot, she sports a tasteful wool-like black dress with white floral details that covers up everything except her legs and arms, as she pairs it with a netted headscarf that ties into a large bow at her neck.

Another photo showcases the singer posing on a chaise lounge while wearing a floor-length embellished leather and chiffon dress and headscarf, while another sees her in a garden scene wearing a long, purple silk gown with a low-cut but still cleavage-covering neckline and a matching cape.

One look still drew on the singer's traditional avant-garde styles however, as she also donned a black glittery catsuit in one image, which covered up her skin, but still managed to showcase her famous curves.

Even Rihanna herself seemed surprised by the images and how she looked in them, as she tweeted her admiration for the photographer who shot them.

"#HarpersBazaar #ARABIA #Cover @BazaarArabia shot by my new fave photographer, Ruven," she wrote.

The singer recently came under fire by T-Boz and Chilli of TLC for her often less-covered up look.

"Every time I see you, you don't have to be naked," T-Boz said in an interview shortly after the singer accepted her Fashion icon award at the CFDAs.

"We became the biggest girl selling group of all time with our clothes on, and that says a lot," Chilli added.
