Model Kate Upton and Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander were spotted together at a Detroit bar last week, according to pictures obtained by a local radio station.

Upton and Verlander were spotted hugging at Coyote Joe's in Shelby Township Detroit last Thursday, according to pictures obtained by Detroit radio station WDZH-FM (98.7)'s "Buck and Coop Show." The pictures show two people hugging in the background and a witness claims they were Upton and Verlander although their faces cannot be seen clearly. The pair were also spotted around metro Detroit at an Aerosmith concert at the Palace of Auburn Hills, according to several reports and her Twitter comments.

The woman who provided the photo, Amanda Waynick, called the radio station earlier Tuesday to discuss the sighting.

Waynick later shared her story with the blog "Names and Faces." She revealed that when she stopped by Coyote Joe's in Shelby Township on Thursday to celebrate her 25th birthday she spotted the pair.

"I went up to him, told him it was my birthday and that he was my Tiger and asked if he would take a picture with me," according to the website. "He laughed, kind of walked by me, but he said no. I was like, 'OK, fine, I don't want a picture with you anyway.' And he laughed at that, too."

Waynick admits that she didn't recognize Upton, but she did get her to pose for a photo, and a friend told her who Upton was.

"She said happy birthday, posed for the picture, and that was really it," she added.

Upton, the Sports Illustrated 2012 Swimsuit issue cover model, tweeted that she was at a Tigers game on Friday. A video of her at the game wearing a Tigers hat was posted on YouTube.

Verlander, 29, will be the starting pitcher for the American League at tonight's Major League All-Star Game.

Upton, 20, was born in St. Joseph, about 190 miles from Detroit.

Earlier this year, the pair starred in two commercials promoting the "MLB 2K12" video game and its $1 million perfect game challenge.

Verlander is reportedly dating longtime girlfriend Emily Yuen.
