The death of Eva Rausing, wife of Tetra Pack heir Hans Kristian Rausing, is being investigated by authorities in the United Kingdom, after her body was found in her London home.

Officials have ordered tests to determine the cause of death and when she died. Reports surfaced Wednesday that she may have been dead for up to a week in a bedroom of her London home, according to the Daily Mail and Telegraph.

Her husband was arrested in connection with suspected drug crimes and to be questioned about the death of his wife. However currently he is at a London hospital receiving medical treatment. He is expected to be at the hospital for "a matter of days," according to the Daily Mail.

Eva Rausing, 48, was found dead on Monday.

London's police arrested Kristian Rausing Monday on suspicion of drug possession and when they searched his home to see if he had drugs they discovered Rausing's body.

She was a U.S. born philantropist daughter of a former Pepsi Cola executive. Her parents Tom and Nancy Kemeny said they were "deeply saddened".

Rausing met Hans Kristian Rausing, 49 at a rehabilitation center in the United States 25 years ago.

The couple had a history of drug abbuse.

In 2008, Eva Rausing was at the center of a scandal when she tried to bring crack cocaine and heroin into the U.S. Embassy.

Police later searched her house and found small amounts of the drugs. The couple were charged with drug possession but prosecutors later dropped the charges.
