"Today I WISHED I was Columbian..." tweeted Galavis last night during the game between Columbia and Brazil, "Hope one DAY Venezuela will have a COACH and a National Team that WORRIES about soccer and not MONEY..."

Born in New York, Galavis went on to play for Venezuela as a midfielder, and so he knows a thing or two about the team.

While Columbia was eliminated yesterday after a close game, losing against Brazil 2-1, the team had come a long way to return to The World Cup after years of remaining absent. The team was last seen there in 1998.

Venezuela is known as the only country in South America that has yet to make it to the World Cup. The team is currently in between coaches. César Farias gave his notice for leaving the team November of last year and Diego Maradona has been rumored to replace him.

While no one from the team has responded to Galavis', though many fans on Twitter chose to voice their agreement shortly after he posted his opinion.
