Bethenny Frankel News 2014: Star Wants To Expand Her SkinnyGirl Line With Popcorn And Kitchen Appliances [VIDEO]
Bethenny Frankel might no longer be a reality television star or talk show host, but it looks as though she's still making a name for herself with her successful SkinnyGirl brand. Rumor has it that Frankel will be expanding her line to include "everything" from hummus to vitamin supplements to kitchen appliances.
Is Bethenny Frankel's Legal Battle With Jason Hoppy Causing Her Millions?
According to a new report, ConAgra Foods is teaming up with Frankel in a three-year agreement to launch a new line of Orville Redenbacher microwave popcorn that will carry both names. The company is hoping that the former Real Housewives of New York star can help boosts its popcorn brand and be more appealing to younger consumers.
Frankel recently told the Wall Street Journal, "I am always looking for a good partner and places where I think there is a void. My initial success in cocktails was because there was a problem that needed to be solved. Women wanted to drink but not feel guilt about it. Microwave popcorn is convenient but it's something that can be fattening. It's unnecessary."
She also added, "I am doing snacks such as pretzel crisps and pita chips. There are non-alcoholic beverages called Skinnygirl Sparklers. I have a line of dips such as hummus, French onion and even salsa that are just launching. I am working on coffee that is not out yet and working on salad dressings and ice cream."
Meanwhile, Frankel still remains one of the most successful housewives. Her book Naturally Thin: Unleash Your SkinnyGirl and Free Yourself from a Lifetime of Dieting has sold more than 200,000 copies in print since 2009.
As far as other popular Real Housewives books, no one has been able to match Frankel's success, with the Real Housewives of New Jersey's Teresa Giudice selling 40,000 copies of her Fabulicious cookbook while the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Brandi Glanville's Drinking and Tweeting was a surprise bestseller with a sale of 26,000 copies last year.
Frankel's daytime talk show, Bethenny, was canceled last month after only one season on the air.
