Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert News: 'Boys Round Here' Singer Urged 'Don't Be Yourself' For Wrigley Field Performance, Ignores The Warning [VIDEO]
Blake Shelton recently performed at the high-profile Wrigley Field, but it seems the venue posed more challenges than Shelton might have realized.
Possible Blake Shelton & Miranda Lambert Duet In The Works
According to CMT yesterday, Shelton was given a lot of instructions about how to perform at the Chicago stadium for his July 19 concert.
"Ever since this was booked, there have been meetings about how I should be the night I do this show," explained Shelton, adding that executives in his corner feared the media would slander the country singer for being anything like himself.

"They said, 'Don't talk about drinking and hunting. Don't be yourself. Just sing your damn songs -- and leave'," added the singer.
In spite of the pressure, Shelton proved to be his natural self on stage, performing 20 songs but also talking in between numbers. He told jokes and laughed about the audience, and himself.
Halfway through the show Shelton called Gwen Sebastian out on stage to sing their current duet My Eyes. While some cheating rumors have circled around Sebastian and Shelton, he was prepared to ignore them during the show, joking that he and wife Miranda Lambert are both so fond of Sebastian that they fight over who gets to tour with her.
By the close of the show, Shelton was his comfortable self and the audience was thrilled with the ride they'd gone on with him. "This is without a doubt," declared Shelton, "The biggest night in my country music career, man."
Shelton is touring this summer as he completes work on some new songs, while Lambert continues to make her way across the country performing her latest album Platinum. Both will be performing in Nevada later in the year for th first ever Las Vegas country music festival.
