On Wednesday Rolling Stone announced that the 2014 ACM Awards will continue with their four "off-camera" honors, including the Gene Weed Special Achievement Award. Underwood is the recipient this year for "superior success in country music."
While ACM is bestowing quite an honor on Underwood, the star has yet to comment on the news. Instead, she's been keeping things low-key before resuming her tour in New York before moving on to Florida.
Carrie Underwood Pokes Fun At NHL Husband Mike Fisher On Twitter
Thursday, Underwood posted a photo on Instagram of her husband, NHL player Mike Fisher, and dog Penny sitting together for a relaxed breakfast together. "Breakfast with Penny," wrote Underwood, "She does this every morning!" In the photo, the little dog is sitting at attention, staring up at Fisher as he enjoys a bagel with jam. It looks like lately Underwood is appreciating the little things, especially with her busy schedule.
The 8th Annual ACM Honors will take place in the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN on September 9, which will be cutting it close considering Underwood will be performing in Highland Park, IL on September 6 and September 7. Fortunately, the star will get a bit of a break in her tour after that, picking up again at the end of the month when she appears as one of the headliners at the Global Citizen Festival in New York City's Central Park on September 27.
