Nicole Murphy and Michael Strahan were spotted having lunch together Thursday just days after they called off their engagement.

Nicole Murphy Says She and Michael Strahan Will Always Be Friends

TMZ shared raw footage of the on-again-off-again couple Thursday as they headed into South Beverly Grill in Beverly Hills, Calif. An insider told the site that they hope to "work things out."

Still, another insider told a different side of the story and said their reported lunch date was completely platonic.

Nicole Murphy Spotted Getting Close To NBA Star Months Before Split With Michael Strahan

"It was a friendly lunch. They have 7 years of history together."

Another insider told Hip Hollywood, "They had lunch. They are on friendly terms. No big deal."

They both remained quiet as a reporter asked if their lunch meant they made up and decided to reconcile before they left in separate cars. Murphy was a little more talkative after Strahan left.

When asked if Strahan paid "like a gentleman," she answered, "He's always a gentleman."

She also laughed when the reporter asked if she would want to get back together.

Murphy and Strahan announced their split earlier this month. Other than Murphy recently saying that they were still on good terms, she has been pretty quiet about the high profile break up.

They dated for five years but have been "off and on for two years," a separate source revealed.

"There have been a lot of ups and downs and back and forth. Sometimes they were together, sometimes they were not. They were both aware all along of their relationship status. No one did anything wrong."

They also said neither Murphy or Strahan were shocked about the split.
