It’s been over a week since 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot and killed by a police officer during an afternoon in Ferguson, Mo., and protests are steadily growing.

Following the Aug. 9 shooting of the young black teenager, the community of Ferguson has come together to demonstrate against Brown’s death.

Several celebrities are also bringing attention to the death of the recent high school graduate, whose preliminary autopsy report revealed that the unarmed teen was shot at least six times by the officer, according to The New York Times on Sunday.

J. Cole released a heartfelt tribute to Brown on Aug. 15 titled Be Free.

“Rest in Peace to Michael Brown and to every young black man murdered in America, whether by the hands of white or black. I pray that one day the world will be filled with peace and rid of injustice. Only then will we all Be Free,” he wrote on SoundCloud along with the audio.

The rapper, 29, also visited Ferguson over the weekend and spoke to community members.

Keke Palmer joined protestors in Ferguson on Saturday night and shared videos on her Instagram page. In one video, protestors chanted, “Don’t shoot, hands up.”

Rapper Young Jeezy paid a visit to the neighborhood's QuikTrip convenience store, which was looted during the protests. He shared a photo of himself on Instagram on Aug. 13 at the location with the caption, “I had to see it for myself!! The answer is not tearing down our own neighborhoods and communities, the answer is goin to the source of the problem in numbers. So many numbers that they know they don't have a chance. We want justice not chaos!! #ferguson #st.louis #saveourchildren #justiceformichaelbrown.”

He previously uploaded a photo Brown, writing, “It's a shame in today's Society we have to protect our loved ones from those who are sworn to protect us. We have to stand strong together and let our voices be heard across the nation. We will not tolerate innocent children being slain. Michael Brown may you rest with the Angels!!! #saveourchildren #St.Louisstandup.”

Reality star Phaedra Parks posed with Brown’s mother, Lesley McSpadden, and wrote a touching caption on Instagram. “Although, we come from different places & backgrounds, we are very much alike-We are both black women & mothers who deeply love our sons. Unfortunately, she is planning her son's funeral while I struggle to make sure my sons never know her son's fate. #fixitjesus,” she wrote.

Chris Brown, Wale, Nelly, Trey Songz, Lil Mama and Bow Wow didn’t visit Ferguson but they paid tribute to Brown at their charity flag football game at Jack Kemp Stadium at Occidental College in Los Angeles on Saturday.

A photo shows them standing with their hands in the air representing Brown's surrender before he was shot, as witnesses stated.

Grey's Anatomy actor Jesse Williams has also been very vocal about the shooting. During an interview with CNN over the weekend, Williams said: "This started with a kid getting shot and killed and left in the street for four hours. I’ve never seen a white body left in the street for four hours in the sweltering heat. The cop doesn't call in the shooting. The body isn't put in an ambulance... There's a lot of bizarre behavior going on."
