Lead Actor in a Comedy Series Winner At 'Emmys 2014' Is Julia Louis-Dreyfus For 'Veep'

Nominated for his work as Sheldon Cooper, Parsons snagged the honor over five other contestants. The role of Sheldon Cooper granted him the Lead Actor in a Comedy Series Emmy three times in recent years.

The 2014 Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series category was also home to Ricky Gervais, Matt LeBlanc, Louis C.K., William H. Macy, and Don Cheadle.

Ricky Gervais scored her nomination for his portrayal of Derek on Netflix's Derek. This marks his sixth Primetime Emmy nod, but only his first for the streaming series.

Most viewers may still associate Matt LeBlanc with Joey Triviani, but it was the actors work on Episodes that landed him on the 2014 Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series ballot. This is the third time LeBlanc has been nominated for the role of himself.

Louis C.K. was also nominated for his eponymous role in his self-titled FX series. The comedian is no stranger to the Emmys as this is his 25th time to the party.

Don Cheadle scored a place on the ballot as Marty Kaan on House of Lies, and William H. Macy entered the competition as Shameless' Frank Gallagher.
