Nominated for her work as Alicia Florick, Margulies snagged the honor over five other contestants. This was the CBS actress' fourth nomination and second win for The Good Wife.
The 2014 Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series category was also home to Michelle Dockery, Claire Danes, Robin Wright, Lizzy Caplan, and Kerry Washington.

Michelle Dockery received her nomination for her role as Lady Mary Crawley in the BBC and PBS Masterpiece's Downton Abbey. This isn't Dockery's first time at the Primetime Awards - she was nominated in 2012 and 2013 for the same role.
Claire Danes made the list for portrayal of Carrie Mathison in Homeland. The actress took home the Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series Emmy in 2013 and 2012 for her Homeland role, and added those wins to her 2010 award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie.
Robin Wright and Kerry Washington House of Cards, Scandal. Lizzy Caplan made her Emmy debut for Masters of Sex.
