While they won't likely hold their wedding ceremony at a fast-good restaurant, Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg's comments about marrying at one in the past could be the sign of a new trend in cheaper weddings.

According to The Daily News, more and more couples are opting for cheaper weddings as ceremonies become increasingly more expensive-including at fast-food establishments, like Dunkin Donuts, Denny's, and White Castle.

And while McCarthy's comments back in July certainly didn't spark the trend, the possible inadvertent celebrity endorsement could keep the idea going even more.

Jenny McCarthy Shares Her Pre-Wedding Slimdown Secret

"I'm so not [a bridezilla]. I feel like I'm a dude," she told People at the time. "I just want to show up. I have Lee Press-On Nails. I'm not that kind of girl. I don't care, as long as the heart is in the ceremony, that's all that matters to me. I could get married in a Kentucky Fried Chicken."

If the famous couple were to hold their wedding reception in a fast-food restaurant they wouldn't be the first-as several couples opened up about their own less-than-traditional ceremonies in the Daily News article.

Couples in the article talked about their respective weddings at a New Jersey White Castle restaurant and a Las Vegas Denny's wedding chapel in 2013, as well as a Hackensack Dunkin Donuts in 2005.

And while no one has been able to do this in the U.S. yet, McDonald's has been offering wedding packages-aptly called 'McNuptials' at their Hong Kong locations two years ago, and are planning to expand to 15 additional restaurants to meet the huge demand.

There was no confirmation on when those would potentially hit the U.S., but the package in Hong Kong goes for a mere $1,290 and includes food for 50 guests, an apple pie cake display and balloon wedding rings.

As for McCarthy and Wahlberg-their wedding plans are still a secret-and even they don't know for sure when they'll tie the knot.

"We keep going back and forth in terms of having it now or pushing it until next year," McCarthy said in a July 21 interview with Parade Magazine. "We're both so madly in love and we keep whispering, 'Should we elope and do it next week?' I'll tell you this, there's no doubt in my mind we won't be able to last up until Christmas. So from now up until Christmas, I will be Mrs. Wahlberg!"
