On Wednesday, People reported that the two have apparently been having some issues in their marriage for a while. According to the report, Carey has been staying in her Manhattan apartment with the couple's three-year-old twins while Cannon "has been staying in hotels," according to sources.
As of now, one of the theories on what could be hurting the marriage is where the professional life is taking them. Apparently, Carey's album that was released last May didn't do so well, so this could be an issue that conflicted with her personal life.
"When things don't go well career-wise, sometimes you turn on your other half," one source said.
"While she can be very down-to-earth and hilarious, she can also be high-maintenance," the source added.
If the couple do end up going through a divorce, then people will probably be hoping for a safe and steady split- but it doesn't look like that's going to be happening.
