Joan Rivers Hospitalized 2014: 'Fashion Police' Host In 'Stable But Critical Condition' As Melissa & Grandson Cooper Rush To Mount Sinai [VIDEO]
Comedian Joan Rivers is reportedly in stable yet still critical condition after having trouble breathing during throat surgery.
Rivers made headlines Thursday after reports came out that she was having difficulty breathing during surgery for a minor endoscopic procedure at a medical clinic. She was rushed to The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City after being in critical condition.
"This morning, Joan Rivers was taken to The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where she is being attended to," hospital representative Sid Dinsay said. "Her family wants to thank everybody for their outpouring of love and support. We will provide an update on her condition as it becomes available."
The incident occurred when doctors were "putting a scope down her throat to check her vocal cords," according to a source via E! News. It was at this point when she had much difficulty breathing. The surgery was described as minor.
The latest report from E! News alleges that Rivers is in "stable but critical condition."
Rivers, 81, is known as a legend in the comedy world and currently hosts the fashion-oriented series Fashion Police on E! where she criticized celebrity garb along with co-hosts.
Rivers' daughter Melissa Rivers and grandson Cooper flew in to the city today.
