Word in the world of technology has it that Apple may be releasing its highly anticipated iPhone 5 sometime in September.

Previous reports have linked the phone's launch to sometime in the fall season. However, based on a report that surfaced on a French blog titled App4Phone, several blogs and worthy sites have claimed September 21st is indeed the day; but don't completely bank on it as it has not been confirmed as of yet.

This past Tuesday, the Guardian stated that phone companies are anticipating the new iPhone to be put out to the public in mid-September. Also, KGI Securities Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has been correct on similar technological matters in the past, is thinking the phone will debut closer to the beginning of the month of September, according to Mac Rumors.

In other news, Apple missed its profit and lost its investors 5% of their shares on Tuesday.

Apple's Chief Financial Officer had the following to say regarding the loss of weekly iPhone sales:

"Our weekly iPhone sales continue to be impacted by rumors and speculation regarding new products."

The tech company claimed it had sold 26million iPhones in the quarter that finished in June, which was down 35.1 million from its prior. Industry experts predicted a drop, just not one that significant.

According to the LA Times, Apple has not confirmed or denied the alleged iPhone 5 September release date.
