It only took one day for Dolly Parton's ice bucket challenge video to get over a million views on YouTube.

"This was not on my bucket list," the country legend said in the video. "But, a lot of people challenged me. Kenny Rogers dared me. Kenny said, 'You'll never do it with your false hair, your false eyelashes, your false nails.' Kenny, you'd be surprised."
Parton, 68, then took off her scarf and her earrings to prepare for the challenge. Someone in the room insisted she take off her shoes, but the singer didn't have to.

"Oh, my shoes are plastic, but then again, so is the rest of me," she joked. "That's beside the point."
Parton's nieces then poured two buckets of ice and water on the Blue Smoke singer and she got soaked.
Sources told Enstars that Parton also made a "huge" donation to ALS.
Countless celebrities have done the ice bucket challenge, which requires a person to pour a bucket of freezing water and ice over their head or donate $100 to ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) research. They also have to nominate another person to partake in the challenge. (Parton didn't nominate anyone else.)
The disease, which affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord, is also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, in reference to the late New York Yankees player who brought international attention to it in 1939 when he was diagnosed.
The ALS Association received $4 million between July 29 and Aug. 12 in comparison to the $1.12 million they collected during the same time last year. The number is steadily growing.
"We have never seen anything like this in the history of the disease," said Barbara Newhouse, President and CEO of The ALS Association. "We couldn't be more thrilled with the level of compassion, generosity and sense of humor that people are exhibiting as they take part in this impactful viral initiative."
