Jill Duggar Baby News: ’19 Kids & Counting Star’ Reveals Why She Announced Her Pregnancy In Her First Trimester [VIDEO]
While many mothers wait until their second trimester before announcing their pregnancies, Jill Duggar says she has a legitimate reason why she wanted to share her news with the world so early on. The 19 Kids & Counting star opened up as to why she publicly announced her pregnancy only days after finding out that she was expecting her first child with her husband, Derick Dillard.

In a new interview with Page Six on Wednesday, Duggar says that she wanted to celebrate her baby's life regardless of what stage she was in.
She told the web site, "Understanding that the majority of miscarriages happen within the first trimester, and believing that every life is precious no matter how young, we decided to share our joyful news as soon as we could."

Duggar also adds that despite the rush in her courtship and marriage, she knew early on that she wanted to start a family with Dillard. The couple tied the knot back in June and discovered they were pregnant with their first child less than two months after their wedding day.
She said, "We prayed a lot, prepared and really didn't see any reason to have a long courtship and engagement. Once we knew we wanted to get married, we didn't want to put off the wedding for a long time and provide a stumbling block for ourselves. We purposed to save ourselves physically for each other within marriage (even our first kiss for our wedding day!), so we had a short engagement period. We knew that we weren't going to prevent having children, so when we found out we were expecting within our first month of marriage, we were thrilled!"
Duggar also added that while she and her husband remained pure during their courtship and engagement, she doesn't think that long engagements are a good idea for other couples.
She added, "You may not wanna push the wedding date out too far, as those natural God-given desires with too much time between engagement and marriage can make it harder to remain pure. If you are financially ready, and things are in place (which should be at the time the question is popped), we believe an engagement should only be long enough to plan a wedding!"
