"I have personally been absent from social media for the past few months for obvious reasons but I feel the need to finally speak up..." he tweeted on Wednesday afternoon.
"During this challenging time for me and my family it saddens me that the media can be such evil bottom feeders... Because my family & I haven't been forthcoming with personal information, people are quick to paint negative pictures and spread rumours."
The America's Got Talent host went on to say that he never made a comment to the media about his marriage. In August, Cannon reportedly told The Insider With Yahoo that there is "trouble in paradise" and that he and Carey have been living apart. "And finally, 'Trouble in Paradise' is the dumbest phrase I've ever heard! I would never say that sh-t," he tweeted.
The 33-year-old also expressed love for his wife of six years and bashed the negative reports about the multiplatinum singer.
"What infuriates me most is to hear people slander @MariahCarey. I will forever be indebted to her for blessing me with our children..." he wrote. "I will always love her unconditionally for this and so much more. @MariahCarey is an amazing Mother and I trust her wholeheartedly..."
The Wild 'N Out host also slammed the "sources" who feed negative information to the media.
Rumors that the pair was divorcing surfaced in late August. Cannon and Carey wed in 2008 and welcome twins, Monroe and Moroccan, in 2011.
