The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will be released as an upgrade for the Samsung Galaxy S3 in the fourth quarter of this year, it has been reported.

The latest software was unveiled by Google last month at the company's I/O keynote, and ever since then Android fans have been eagerly anticipating the upgraded system. With the huge success of the Samsung Galaxy S3's release across the globe, millions are now wondering when the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will drop on the device.

Already the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S, and the Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi tablet have received the software as of mid-July via an over the air update. Users of the new Samsung Galaxy S3 will have to wait a little while longer until the fourth quarter to receive their upgrades.

The Android 4.0 has already impressed the smartphone market, but with the 4.1 Jelly Bean, Google are taking things to a new level. A number of impressive enhancements are featured in the Jelly Bean; with improved touch responsiveness, as well as enhanced smooth animations and the UI. Users can also expect the frame rate to be accelerated to 60 frames per second with the Jelly Bean.

Redesigned notifications are also featured on Android 4.1, and Google has opted to make them fully customizable.

A new feature called "Google Now" is one of the most talked about features coming with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, which functions like a search product utilizing customizable cards such as "Sports" or "Flights" that will keep users up to date on various information streams.

The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will be released on the Samsung Galaxy S3 sometime in the fourth quarter if 2012.
