Michael Kors Spring 2015 Collection showed at New York Fashion Week earlier this morning (Sept. 10) at Spring Studios in Soho. As the press fought for spots to get the right camera angle for the runway, celebrities like Kors’ former Project Runway colleague Heidi Klum, R&B great Mary J. Blige, actresses Jada Pinkett-Smith and Olivia Munn, and the talented Jessica Chastain took their seats.
The lights came up in the all-white space and a modernized version of the Ronnette’s classic “Be My Little Baby” began to play. The song was absolutely perfect for the joyful collection, which featured floral inspired patterns and colors, as well as cutouts and loose-fitting silhouettes. Backstage, before the madness, he told the cameras that he was inspired by “the optimism” of the 1950s. The collection completely reflected that.

The most attention-grabbing pieces featured yellow, pink, and navy floral patterns in belled-out, romantic-style skirts. Each skirt and dress had pockets for the woman-on-the-go, who must maintain a certain level of elegance when she walks into a room.
Dainty accessories, like the tan and brown flowered belts, completed the models’ looks as the strutted down the runway. Towards the end of the collection, darker pieces were put on display with transparent fabrics and fun prints as a major theme.
