Ryan Gosling, Eva Mendes Baby: Rachel McAdams Reaction To Baby News Revealed As Ex-Boyfriend Officially Starts Family With ‘Place Beyond The Pines’ Co-Star [PHOTOS]
She was reportedly 'devastated' when she learned that ex-boyfriend Ryan Gosling was having a baby with girlfriend of three years Eva Mendes, but Rachel McAdams seems perfectly fine with the fact he is a father now.
It's A Girl For Ryan Gosling & Eva Mendes!
The actress has not been reported as having any type of reaction this time, despite news breaking that Gosling and Mendes welcomed a baby girl on September 12-and though there have been no public announcements of congratulations on her part, there's been no word that she was heartbroken either-a rapid change from two months ago when she was reportedly not handling the news that the couple was expecting too well.
Sources claimed back in July that she was 'devastated' about the baby news when it was first reported in July, because she and the actor had ended their publicly adored romance due to her not being ready to have kids-making the news that Mendes was pregnant with her ex's child a huge blow.
Ryan Gosling & Eva Mendes 'Overjoyed' About becoming Parents?
However, sources also claimed at the time that Gosling's belief he and Mendes didn't need to marry solely because they were about to become parents was a potentially good sign for McAdams that she could still have a shot with him one day.
"Ryan doesn't think they need to marry just because they are having a baby," sources said at the time.
And the news was reportedly somewhat encouraging for McAdams because she has allegedly been trying to win Gosling back for some time-ever since splitting with Michael Sheen in March 2013 because she was ironically ready for a family.
"Rachel wanted to settle down and is dreaming of having a family. Michael always seemed content with their relationship. Since he already has a daughter [Lily, 14 with Kate Beckinsale), he feels no need to have more children. He wants to focus on his career," sources told People Magazine at the time of the split.
And because McAdams was so set on having a family, she allegedly tried to win Gosling back because they were finally on the same page-even causing problems for her ex and Mendes earlier this year with the amounts of contact she allegedly had with him.
"Rachel has been very low-key about it all," the source said. "She's played it very smart and used the whole 'just friends' angle to get close to Ryan again, but she's 100 percent wants him back. He's not the cheating type, but he hasn't been honest with Eva about how much contact he has with Rachel."
However, it appears those rumors were all false, as she seems fine with not only being reunited with her former beau, but the news that he's a father.
