In the 2012 Olympics final competition for the women's synchronized 3-meter springboard, Team China's Wu Minxia and He Zi came in first with a total score of 346.20.

Team USA, Abigail Johnston and Kelci Bryant, came in second with 321.90 with Canada following as third and Italy coming in fourth.

Johnson, 22, began diving in 2002 and Bryant, 23, was at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, where she came in fourth in the synchronized 3-meter dive. The July 29th diving finals featured teams from Italy, China, USA, Ukraine, Australia, Malaysia, Great Britain and Canada.

China's two-time gold medalist Minxia and her partner Zi got a sizeabel lead of 23 points over the Italians by the fourth round, flipping in perfect unison and placing them in 1st place by the fourth. By that time, Italy was still in second place.

Team USA's Johnston and Bryant did an inward 21/2 somersault, spinning forward toward the diving board, which got load cheers from the audience.Their back 2 1/2 somersault put them ahead of the Italians for the silver and Canada, with just 2.6 points behind, came into third pushing the Italians into fourth.

USA currently holds 47 Olympic diving gold medals and 40 silver medals, more than any other team competing in the Games. The 2012 Olympics began on July 27 and will end on Sunday, Aug. 12.
