Creator John Logan has previously teased a larger scale for the second season of Showtime's Penny Dreadful and it looks like the colorful cast of characters might just be hitting the road sooner than anticipated.

Caliban Returns For New 'Penny Dreadful' Episodes

On Monday producer Christopher King suggested that Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton) and company will be busy moving around London during the program's premiere episode this season. He accompanied the Twitter post with a photograph of a Victorian cart drawn by four horses.

Revealing that this shot is from the "first location day" for the episodes means the scenes shot last week with the actors all took place inside the studio-built sets and so the story might begin with a little rooting of the characters before entering a realm of new and untold dangers. One thing is for sure, the season will start off during the winter. Director James Hawes shared a pic from the set on Monday, showing off some of the setting.

The crew had tested out the snow machine earlier last week and it appears everything is now up and running for production.

Penny Dreadful returns to Showtime for a second, longer season in 2015.
