In what seems to be writer Simon Kinberg righting all of the wrongs he did with the third original X-Men movie, it could mean another character who appeared in the movie could re-appear to be a part of the storyline in the next movie that should feature the most mutants in one film ever.

While some concept art teased an earlier appearance during this year's Days of Future Past, it would seem like Kinberg and director Bryan Singer are keen on bringing back the Juggernaut and giving the bad guy another chance to be given a fair on-screen treatment. The villain was last seen in X-Men: Last Stand and played by professional athlete Vinnie Jones.

This incarnation was not well received by fans and could be open to bringing back and doing the character justice. The character does show up briefly in the Age of Apocalypse comics, and could have a sort of Quicksilver like cameo that would introduce the character and set him up for a bigger role in the future.

In the Age of Apocalypse universe, Cain is a monk who works as a protector of Avalon. He guides Mystique and Nightcrawler to meet Destiny, but subsequently suffers an aneurysm when his desire not to hurt others conflicts with his lust for violence during an attack on Avalon.

It would be interesting to almost see the character as a good guy, who subsequently turns bad due to the turn of events. It would also introduce the character and give him some backstory, but wouldn't take too much of the time up and would allow him to return later on.

X-Men: Apocalypse is set to open in theaters on May 27, 2016.
