'Longmire' Cancellation: Cast Of Former A&E Drama Claim Their Family Was 'Deep and Real' As Show Searches For New Network [VIDEO]
The cast of Longmire didn't just say goodbye their jobs when A&E opted to cancel the popular crime drama after three seasons. They were also forced to bid farewell to a family they'd come to know and love.
On Monday A. Martinez (Jacob) shared a photo on Twitter which showed members of the cast gathered round to share a meal. Included in the pic were (left to right) Lou Diamond Phillips (Henry), Cassidy Freeman (Cady), and Adam Bartley (Ferg).
The bond doesn't just end there. The folks behind Longmire were willing to go out of their way for one another.
When author Craig Johnson, who wrote the book series on which the program was based, couldn't make it to deliver a graduation speech, Phillips stepped in to lend a hand.
The fate of Longmire remained uncertain this summer as the show's third season aired on A&E, ending with a life-or-death cliffhanger. When the network decided to cancel the series last month, however, many fans were surprised. Longmire had been A&E's top-rated scripted drama at the time of cancellation and the second-highest rated series on the network total.
Producers have been shopping the drama around over the last few weeks with the hope of finding a new home for Season 4, though no offers have been made public at this time.
If Longmire does return for a fourth season on a new network, it will likely do so during the second half of 2015.
