Jamie Dornan has played a lot of different characters in his career, but one of them has left the Fifty Shades of Grey star "scarred."

Dakota Johnson's Mom Melanie Griffith Reportedly 'Bitterly Upset' Family Isn't Supporting Daughter In Breakout Role

No, playing Christian Grey hasn't seemed to scar the actor, but portraying a serial killer in the BBC series The Fall has.

According to The Guardian, Dornan said the part of Paul Spector really got to him. "You can't fail to be left slightly scarred by inhabiting someone like that for two seasons. I do carry elements of him with me in a worrying way. I find him relatable ... I have a deep understanding of him and why he is why he is."

Even though Christian Grey is a whole different character, Dornan said it was hard to let go of Spector. "He had such distaste for everything," Dornan said. "You do carry some of that anger and that hatred in you a little bit, especially towards the end of a few months playing him."

Despite the tough parts about playing him, Dornan did say that the role had "totally transformed" his life and career. Dornan even earned the role in Fifty Shades of Grey, although he has admitted it won't be as tough to watch as maybe one expects.

"It's going to be sexual and everything, but it's not going to be something that's going to be hard to watch," Dornan said to The Today Show about the film. "What I've seen hasn't been particularly watered down, so, um, yeah, I thought it was interesting."

Fifty Shades of Grey will be out in theaters February 2015.
