FX has released another sneak peek at American Horror Story: Freak Show, featuring the cast listing off the general themes of the season.

Freak Show centers on freak show owner Elsa Mars (Jessica Lange) and her band of freaks living in Jupiter, Fla. in 1952. As is to be expected, the season deals primarily in the conflict between the performers in the freak show and the idyllic society who judges them.

In the new trailer, Denis O'Hare, who plays a con artist named Stanley, says that they are playing with the idea of what people consider abnormal.

"I think there's a great thing to play off of here which is the idea of what somebody else considers abnormal," he says. "The idea of abnormality. We're talking about physical abnormality, behavioral abnormality."

He further reveals that Elsa Mars is hoping to revitalize her freak show with the introduction of Siamese twins Dot and Bette Tattler (Sarah Paulson).

"She happens upon this incredible find which is Sarah Paulson's character the Siamese twins, and they're gonna make her a fortune she thinks," O'Hare says. "1950s were such a period of 'behind the stage' and 'in front of the stage.' What people thought was normal behavior and what was actually happening."

Angela Bassett, who plays the three-breasted Desiree DuPree in the season, adds that it is "a period when everything looked idyllic and pristine on the outside. The picket fence and the perfect two parents and the 2.1 kids and that sort of thing."

Paulson brings up that there is a "little bit of freak" in everybody and that "even the most seemingly normal person can have something about them that they either deem odd or that someone else would deem odd." She adds that it doesn't even have to be a physical oddity; it can also be emotional or private.

Michael Chiklis, who is playing strongman Dell Toledo, sums it up by saying that everyone wants to be loved and accepted and that Freak Show represents that and explores "a frightening, terrifying area."

American Horror Story: Freak Show begins Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
