After spending a few days back in the UK for some time off, director James Hawes returned to the set of Showtime's Penny Dreadful on Sunday to continue with production for Season 2.

Showtime Releases 1st 'Penny Dreadful' Teaser For Season 2

Hawes announced on Twitter Monday that they were back to shooting with the fake snow, which has been used a lot over the last few weeks to create winter onset. He also promised new "horrors" to come as the episodes continue.

The director also retweeted a post by model and actress Nicole O'Neill (The Royals, The First Musketeer), who boasted a long day of production.

O'Neill first announced her arrival on set Oct. 2 and her shout out to makeup designer and key prosthetic makeup artist Sarita Allison could mean O'Neill is one of the newest "creatures" on the series. With her background as a body double for Jennifer Lawrence in the popular comic book film X Men: First Class, the actress does have plenty of experience with prosthetics.

Penny Dreadful returns to Showtime for a second, longer season in 2015.
