Stephen Collins Child Molestation: Former '7th Heaven' Actor Under Investigation For 'Inappropriate Sexual Contact' [AUDIO]
Fans remember Stephen Collins as the good-hearted Pastor Eric Camden on the defunct television hit 7th Heaven, but now, the 67-year-old reportedly confessed to child molestation.
TMZ released a tape on Tuesday which features Collins telling his ex-wife, actress Faye Grant, that he molested three underage girls in the past. Grant and Collins divorced in 2012 after 27 years of marriage.
The Revolution actor told Grant about his inappropriate behavior in 2012 and then during a visit to a therapist she taped him discussing it again. It's noted that Grant's lawyer told her it's permissible in California to tape a person who committed a crime without their knowledge.
One girl Collins mentioned was only 11 years old at the time and also a relative of his wife, Marjorie Weinman, whom he was married to from 1970 to 1978. The other two discussed were within the same age range. Collins confessed that there "were like three incidents over about three years" with one girl and he said he tried to apologize years later to the other.
The New York Police Department, which received the tape last Wednesday, is reportedly getting involved and investigating. They've already flown to Los Angeles to speak with Grant about the "inappropriate sexual contact with minors." Collins could still be prosecuted for his wrongdoings even though the incident happened years ago.
