The U.S. Attorney General's office told ABC News Tuesday the mom of four has given the federal government $200,000 of the $414,588 she and her husband Joe Giudice owe.

The $200,000 covers her half but Joe still has yet to make a payment for his. Her attorney added that she used $150,000 from a contract advance to pay it off. She also received a $50,000 loan from a friend for the rest.

Teresa is currently preparing to serve her sentence of 15 months behind bars. She is scheduled to begin in January. Her husband Joe will start his after she is done. In the meantime, an insider has revealed that Teresa is making homemade tapes for her daughters to watch while she is away. She and Joe are parents to 13-year-old Gia, 10-year-old Gabriella, Miliana, 8, and Audriana, 5.

"She wants to make tapes for them. There will be one for birthdays, one for holidays, and a video with words of encouragement for when they are sad."

They added that she plans to have all of the videos taped by Thanksgiving. The source also said the reality star has battled with depression and worries about her husband, who "has been binge-eating."

"[She] is worried he's going to have a heart attack, like his dad."
