While they had a whirlwind romance and married shortly after, Parks revealed she did not think he was still involved in fraudulent activities.
"He had been to prison. He was a changed person. So the person I thought I married, he was changed."
She revealed that even when he was arrested for the most recent charges back in January, she stood by his side. He was hit with several fraud charges including identity theft after he stole victims' personal information and used it to apply for loans and open up phony businesses. The reality star said she initially believed Nida when he told her the charges against him were not valid.
"I went out of my way to get him the best attorneys, the best investigators and do everything I could. I wanted him to have the best, so we could fight this together."
But that all changed when Nida decided to plead guilty to the charges in March. Since then, Parks said he has taken much of his anger out on her, but she is understanding as to why.
"There's been a lot of lashing out from Apollo. I think sometimes when people are hurting, they do things to hurt other people."
Parks and Nida have two boys together, Ayden, 4, & Dylan, 1. The lawyer said she is now focused on raising her two boys, including guarding them from negative things said about Nida in the public.
"It is extremely hard... My heart aches for my two sons. I never wanted to do anything to diminish his character in public."
Nida was sentenced to eight years in prison and began his term a couple of weeks ago.
